In my previous beauty post, I’ve introduced my new favorite line of skincare and body care products – Simply Divine Botanicals, which are infused with reiki (read here for more info on brand). Finding organic and naturally healing skincare line is tricky because sometimes person’s chemistry won’t agree with certain ingredients consisting of botanicals and essential oils due to citrus or herbal notes – but why?

Many peeps nowadays seem to react to natural, green beauty lines, which results in some irritation in a form of breakouts, itchiness, or redness. If a product is 100 percent natural/ organic, it is safe to use because carcinogens, nor toxins will seep through the skin. However, if a person has a citrus allergy when taken internally (ex. orange juice) – same reaction will usually take place when applying a product (containing citrus) topically.

This is where some get confused on why they react to a safe, organic skincare product(s) – I see this a lot in ladies who want to transition to clean skincare lines. For example, if you know you have a grapefruit allergy and want to utilize ONLY green beauty products, then please ALWAYS read the ingredient labels!

Avoid ingredients that you know you react to if you eat it; usually same reaction happens if applied topically. Now that that’s been cleared up, let’s take a look at some of my favorite products from Simply Dive Botanicals.

I find that Simply Divine Botanicals blends their ingredients so well that they perform some magic on your skin! I’ve had the pleasure to try out many of the products from their line, but today I will review the one’s I heart the most at the moment.

Black Velvet Fabulous Foaming Facial Cleanser ($24.95) 4 oz. – This double duty cleanser benefits all skin types, from dry to oily. I have oily skin and it didn’t dry my skin out at all. In fact, it left it hydrated and well cleansed from makeup and pollution.

From Simply Divine Botanicals: Reports from staff and clients tell us our cleanser removes most makeups, heals and prevents blemishes, cleanses excess oils and debris, minimizes the appearance of large pores and leaves the skin feeling like “velvet”. What more can you ask and all you have to do is wash your face.

The black velvet cleanser contains beautiful essential oils of lavender (anti-septic & anti-inflammatory), geranium (calms & hydrates), MSM (wrinkle reducer and improves skin texture) and organic whole-leaf aloe vera (sooths skin). It’s also jam packed with other amazing nutrients and smells really lovely of floral and earthy botanicals.

This is probably one of the best cleansers that I’ve tried to date – and I’ve tried A LOT (natural/ organic)! It’s actually fairly effective at keeping my skin blemish free, which I can’t say about other face washes. 

You only need a dime sized in your palm to evenly cleanse the skin; therefore, it will last a long time to use up. It lathers very well, even though it does not contain any sulfate ingredients. My fave way to use this in the mornings is to add a few sprinkles of One Love Organics Micro Derma Scrub (review here) to the cleanser and cleanse the skin for a glow and well exfoliated face.

Ingredients: Unconditional Love & Gratitude, Organic Whole-leaf Aloe Vera, Oils of: Jojoba, Avocado, Coconut, Sea Buckthorn, Almond, Palm & Carrot. Papaya, Banana, Cocoa Tree extract, Outer Body Experience, Seaweed, MSM, Calcium, Magnesium, Potassium. Essential oils of: Frankincense, Myrrh, Lavender, Helichrysum, Blood Orange, Pink Grapefruit, Rosewood, Patchouli & Geranium.

Honey I shrunk the Pores! Biologically Active Skin Polish/Mask with Fruit Enzymes ($29.95) 4 oz. – Great quality honey acts as an amazing exfoliant and reduces inflammation from acne, eczema, rosacea, and other skin issues. It also tightens skin, minimizes pores & wrinkles, and disinfects.

Simply Divine Botanicals version of Honey Active Skin Polish + Mask does all mentioned and more! It is packed with fruit enzymes and smells like tasty raspberry jam…yum! Perfect for all skin types – just like their black velvet cleanser. In addition, the consistency is thin – not thick like actual honey, which is good for spreading the product onto the face.

I like to cleanse my skin first, then apply the honey skin polish and leave on for approximately 20 minutes or more. Rinse off with warm water. I do this polish/ mask 2X a week. Although, Simply Divine Botanicals states you can use it daily. My skin feels like incredible velvet afterwards and pores appear much tighter. The following day, makeup applies flawlessly and skin still has the same effect as the previous day when the mask was done.

The ingredient list is very clean and contains some of the following: raw waldcrafted honey (quality is important when it comes to honey), organic green papaya (natural exfoliant), witch hazel & organic raw apple cider vinegar (anti-inflammatory), chamomile & comfrey (calming and soothing), frankincense oil (anti-aging).

Ingredients: Unconditional Love and Gratitude, Raw Wildcrafted Honey, Orange Blossom Distillate, Organic Green Papaya, Organic Whole-Leaf Aloe Vera, Apple Pectin, Dehydrated Raspberries, Organic Raw Apple Cider Vinegar, MSM, Liposome Vitamin C, Lemon Balm, Bulgarian Rosewater, Witch Hazel, Kombucha Culture, Elder Flowers, Green Tea, Rose Petals, Chamomile, Calendula, Comfrey, Rosemary, Sage, Cranesbill, Lavender, Roosbois, Alkanet Root, Essential Oils of: Tangerine, Lemongrass, Frankincense and Myrrh, Vitamin E and Lemon Juice.
