I’m always on the lookout for ‘THE’ best natural deodorant that performs or outperforms the mainstream, chemical laden ones. My favorite natural deodorant to this day has been Soapwalla (review here). However, 2 caveats with it (although, it performs amazing!): 1. It comes in a jar – cream form, where you have to scoop it out by hand, warm it up and apply to underarms. 2. Because it is in a cream form, it can leave a white residue on your tops and dresses when getting dressed. I still use and adore Soapwalla because it keeps me dry throughout the day, smells really fresh and works just like an antiperspirant- although, not marketed as such.

With all the warnings of keeping away- far, far away from drugstore deodorant and antiperspirant brands, due to parabens and other carcinogens that seep into the delicate underarm area and potentially cause damage to breast tissue (medical studies have shown that parabens lie in breast cancer patiens)– I’ve been searching high and low for THE perfect, natural, non-toxic deodorant.

BACKGROUND ON THE BRAND

About a month ago, my lovely coworker introduced me to a beautiful and very zen line of natural and simply effective skincare and body care products – Simply Divine Botanicals. The owner, Barbara uses Reiki Healing techniques to infuse all products from her line (skincare, body care) with positive energy and above all, love and gratitude. Reiki is a Japanese healing technique that uses one’s own energy to promote healing of the body, mind, relaxation and stress reduction. I’ve personally taken a Reiki class six years ago, so Simply Divine Botanicals piqued my interest, especially being natural and toxic free. I’ll leave other lovely skincare products that I tried for another review by this brand, but the deodorant sprays are a perfect companion on a long, humid day.

PERFORMANCE & SCENTS

The first item that I’ve tried and heart the most from the brand, is their Crystal Ally Deodorant Spray in two scents – Sandalwood and Rose. The rose scent has to be my favorite and is a beautiful, true floral that lingers very softly throughout the day. The deodorants that I purchased come in a 2 oz. ($9.95) spray bottle and have clear and watery consistency.

The convenience of this product is that you don’t have to wait to get dressed (avoid the white marks that my beloved Soapwalla makes). It sprays perfectly clear and works throughout the day to keep you smelling fresh! I’ve tried using these on very hot days and can attest that THEY do WORK in terms of keeping odor at bay and keeping underarm area feeling fresh. Compared to Soapwalla, performance is the same for odor protection and antiperspirant action.

It comes in three sizes- 1 oz., 2 oz., and 8 oz. The 1 oz. is perfect for travel and to keep in your cosmetic bag during the day. Comes in seven scents: lavender, rose, pink grapefruit, lemongrass, tangerine, sandalwood, and unscented.

So far, I’m loving these Crystal Ally Deodorants sprays and looking forward to trying new scents- tangerine and lemongrass will be in my next purchase order!
